4th of July celebrations have already begun! Check out my healthy, easy and fun recipes with a twist on Creole seasonings. You will be going back for seconds!




Creole BBQ Salmon Sandwich (serves 2)


  • 1Tbsp creole seasoning

  • 1 medium salmon steak

  • 1 cup of lettuce greens, any kind

  • Rosemary and Thyme Focaccia bread cut into sandwich slices, Gluten Free Canyon Bakehouse brand

  • Mayo, Just Mayo brand egg and dairy free

  • 1 heaping Tbsp BBQ sauce, Tessemae's brand

  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil

Creole Seasoning


  • 2 1/2 tablespoons paprika

  • 2 tablespoons salt

  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon dried leaf oregano

  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme


Directions - Combine all ingredients in a bowl and use when needed. Store in an airtight container.



Sprinkle salmon on both sides with creole seasoning until fully covered. Cook Salmon on grill or in a non-stick skillet with coconut oil on low medium heat for about 5-7 minutes on both sides until well done. Toast the focaccia bread. Spread on the Just Mayo. Place salmon on focaccia, top with BBQ sauce and lettuce. Enjoy!





Lemon Purple Potato Salad (serves 2)


  • 1 pound purple potatoes, cleaned

  • 1 medium lemon, zested and juiced

  • 1 celery stalk, cut into thin pieces

  • 2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped

  • 1 medium green onion, cut into thin pieces

  • 2 Tbsp soft fresh truffle dill and chive cheese, Kite Hill brand

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil


Cut the potatoes in half and season with salt and pepper. Add the potatoes to a non-stick skillet with coconut oil. Cover and cook on low medium heat for about 7-10 minutes until tender. Take lid off and brown for an additional 3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon and place potatoes in a large bowl, let cool for 10 minutes. Add lemon juice, celery, cilantro, and green onion. Toss until combined. Sprinkle with the lemon zest and truffle dill and chive cheese. Enjoy!





Creole Steamed Corn (serves 2)



  • 2 heads of corn, inside cleaned with leaves on

  • 2 Tbsp soft fresh truffle dill and chive cheese, Kite Hill brand

  • Cilantro, chopped

  • 1Tbsp creole seasoning

  • 1 medium lemon, zested

  • Coconut oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Soak the corn in water for 5-10 minutes (this will help steam the corn inside the leaves). Steam the corn in a steamer or you can add to the grill or a non-stick skillet lid on low medium heat rotating every 5 minutes on each side. Take off heat and remove the leaves. Drizzle coconut oil and sprinkle with creole seasoning, cheese, lemon zest, cilantro, salt and pepper. Enjoy!
